Event & Project Manager



Job Description Reins of Life, Inc. is seeking an Event & Project Manager to join our growing organization. Reins of Life is a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has served children and adults with disabilities through equine-assisted services since 1978. Together with our equine partners, we assist participants of our programs in their journey toward an improved quality of life and greater independence. Candidates must have a passionate commitment to support the achievements of people with disabilities. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing special events; marketing, networking in the community, and managing special projects.


Responsibilities include:

· Manage, promote/market, coordinate, and implement special events.

· Create and monitor annual event calendar with Executive Director

· Contribute to ideation, strategies, tactics, project plans, and logistics for a team to execute, while keeping timelines and budgets on track.

· Manage event budget, resources, personnel, and volunteers for events

· Initiate marketing for events, including the design of materials, publicity and coordinating announcements (including all media: newspaper, magazines, television and radio) locally and regionally.

· Organize and coordinate Special Events Committee Meetings.

· Assist in the setup and utilization of specialized software for event registration, customer relationship management, and data tracking/reporting (performers indicator for marketing initiatives).

· Develop, create, execute and monitor marketing platforms year (e.g., social media, web page, newsletters, brochures, subscriber list and media contacts).

· Provide management and logistical support for other projects, including identifying providers, obtaining bids for projects, scheduling, and oversight).

· Establish, track, analyze and report short and long-term goals and objectives for all marketing initiatives, special projects and events managed.

· Secure appropriate permitting and licenses as they relate to events and programming.

· Serve as an ambassador for ROL at various community organizations and events.

· Develop and maintain contacts with members of business and nonprofit community (through local chamber of commerce and otherwise) and assist in securing new corporate and local sponsorship for events/programs.

· Develop promotional materials including visitors’ and donors’ informational folders,

· Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.



Ideal candidate will have:

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or closely related field.

· One to three years of experience in event planning, marketing, communications, social media engagement and promotional writing.

· Thorough knowledge of in office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite Products)

· Superior organizational and communication skills, detail-oriented with an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

· Ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

· Strong work-ethic, people skills, professionalism, positive attitude, and flexibility.

· Team-oriented, with a can-do attitude and focus on continuous improvement.

· Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation.

· US work authorization (preferred).




Full-time schedule. Applicant must be flexible, including evenings and weekends, to accomplish job responsibilities.



Our facilities are in South Bend and Michigan City, Indiana. The open position is primarily at our South Bend facility; however, the successful candidate must also be able and willing to be present at our Michigan City facility.
